My Bio
Welcome to Badass Bones Taxidermy and Painted Skulls! My name is Erica Heath and I’m from the small town of Philomath, Oregon. Since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with skulls and other bones when my father would bring home deer, raccoon, and coyote skulls he found here and there. Only recently have I started using my small collection to make elaborate pieces of artwork.

Badass Bones brings you many, unique works of art from painted, engraved, or wood-burned skulls, to hanging mobiles and decorated horse shoes. If you prefer old, cowboy-western art, I’ve got something for you. If you like traditional or tribal décor, I’ve also got something for you. If you enjoy the presence of the spooky or macabre in your home, I specialize in that sort of work!

My philosophy is to preserve and utilize every possible piece of an animal that Mother Nature leaves behind, and bring them to you! Often times I will incorporate feathers, fur, teeth, claws, antler, leather, glass beads, driftwood, and other beautiful nature-made or hand-made bits and pieces into my finished product.

Many of my materials come from right here in Oregon, be it death by hunters, nature, or cars! Most of my elk materials came from our coast range. Many of my raccoon, coyote, and rabbit furs and skulls come from the Willamette Valley. Also, due to the lovely donations of local hunters, farmers, and taxidermists I’m able to stay pretty local with all of my deer materials. I purchase many of my larger skulls through taxidermists and collectors both in the United States and Internationally! I’m able to bring you many rare pieces including kangaroo fur, lion skulls, reindeer antlers, and crocodile teeth (just to name a few) by collaborating with the taxidermy artists and collectors of Deviant Art! Basically, if you want it, I’ve got it or I can get it!

Not only will I bring you pieces from my own collections and imagination, but I am AVAILABLE FOR COMMISIONS! If you want something specific, contact me right away and we can begin to build a unique and specific piece for you! Maybe you want a specific skull? Do you want a unique painting of your choice? Maybe you want me to work on one of your personal skulls or hunting trophies? Maybe you want specific feathers, teeth, or fur? We can do that!

Keep in mind that what I currently bring you is only the beginning of what Badass Bones plans to be! With your help, we can get the ball rolling and I can purchase skulls/furs/other materials that may be tougher to find, harder to get, or require more cash! With more time and practice, I hope to produce pieces with elaborate wood-burning, engraving, and stone/jewel setting. With more schooling and help from you, I hope to get more serious with my love of traditional taxidermy and bring you the finest mounts and rugs!

Go shop around my page, feel free to ask questions, contact me about commissions, and don’t forget to visit my website and learn how YOU can help Badass Bones!

I have two packages of neat craft materials available FOR SALE! Check in my recent gallery uploads and they will be the most recent. Both offer slightly different things but they all basically include feathers, furs, bone, leather, teeth, quills, stone, shell, wood, and other natural materials. Plenty of feathers to make several pairs of earrings! You can purchase them directly through Etsy. The links are on the photos (: SpiritOfAngela (https://www.deviantart.com/spiritofangela) NorthCrown-Creations (https://www.deviantart.com/northcrown-creations)   I know you were both looking for feathers. BUCKSKIN DRESS

0 min read
Hey guys! I'm waiting on a whole hide of gorgeous, golden, soft, elk leather! It should be here in a few days and I plan to make myself a personal buckskin dress out of it. It will take some time to finish, as I will be putting tender love and care and my own touch to it, but when it's finished I will be glad to share some pictures. I will then be open for commissions on dresses in the very near future! We can do buckskin, elkskin, buffalo skin, bearskin (maybe), moose skin, cow skin, pig skin, horse skin, and more... and all the teeth, quills, bones, claws, and tassels of any fur you can imagine! All CUSTOM made to your taste! Also, there is

I received a mummified coyote head from a friend today. He found it in his garage in a ziploc bag. It's been there for several years from the vet students that used to live there. They just cut the head off and bagged it, probably for a study, so it still had the brain and everything. Now the hide is mummified and the hair is tight. There's still brain in it but it's turned to chunks and dust kinda. The only thing is, it fucking REEKS!! I took it out of the bad and it smelled SO horrible. It's got some old bug carcasses and stuff that I swept off. No live bugs or moths. It is fully dried but there was still remnants of a brain. Is there anyth

Oh my, thank you so much!
Thank you for the :+fav: :) !!
Of course! Love what you did with the snake! Haven't seen that on DA yet and snakes n' skulls... The best.
And my! thank you for the watch too. :) Glad you enjoy it, there will be more soon.

may be mostly geckos, though as most of our snakes are too big to sit on the skulls.. or spiders, who knows what mood I'll be in!
